It's back for 2011! The search for emerging credit union leaders is on! More than $50,000 in prizes will be awarded, plus the title of the Next Top Credit Union Exec.
CUES is looking for young professionals, age 35 and under, to apply to become the 2011 Next Top Credit Union Exec. This challenge will allow young credit union professionals to flex their creative muscles and show the credit union world what they are capable of!
Applicants will be divided into six regions:
Interested young credit union professionals are encouraged to enter the competition by producing a 60-second YouTube video. The video content should include information about you, your role at your credit union and a pitch about a current project or program that you are working on at your credit union. You can also pitch an idea that you have to advance your credit union or the credit union industry.

From June 10–20, 2011, members of the credit union industry and the general public will vote for their favorite applicant in each region. The applicant in each of the six regions with the most votes will become a Regional Finalist.
From mid-June to the end of October, the six Regional Finalists will keep everyone updated on their progress by contributing two written blog posts per month and three videos to the Next Top Credit Union Exec blog.
The Regional Finalists will be encouraged to share their triumphs and challenges on the Next Top Credit Union Exec blog and through their own online social circles. This is a great opportunity for these emerging leaders to engage with and to learn from like-minded members of the credit union industry. It will be fantastic for everyone to discuss ideas and to look for help and advice along the way.
Each Regional Finalist will receive a CUES reward package valued at $5,000, including economy airfare, accommodations and registration to attend CUES' CEO/Executive Team Network™. Plus, each Regional Finalist will get to stand out among their peers and have a great achievement to include on their resume.
All six Regional Finalists will come together November 6–9, 2011, at CUES' CEO/Executive Team Network™ in Las Vegas. Each finalist will present the results and progress or planning of their project to a judging panel comprised of CUES Council officers. The live audience will also vote for their favorite finalist. In addition, the public will be able to vote online. At the conference, the Regional Finalist with the highest combined score will be declared the 2011 Next Top Credit Union Exec.
The ultimate winner will receive the title of 2011 Next Top Credit Union Exec. Not only will this be a great resume builder, the winner will also receive an additional $20,000 educational package, including:
- Registration, accommodation and economy airfare to any two CUES’ CEO Institutes
Plus, they get to continue to publish the progress of their project with monthly updates on the Next Top Credit Union Exec blog for the next five months.
